Job Description Summary: PayPal Corporate Tax has an exciting opportunity for a Director, APAC Tax Business Advisory. You will provide tax support across PayPal’s business initiatives in the APAC region, leading tax incentive and planning projects. Role Overview: The position involves offering income tax advice, reviewing contracts, integrating new businesses, assessing tax legislation, identifying risks and opportunities, supporting tax litigation, corporate planning, and audit procedures. The role demands proactive identification of tax needs and risk management to add value to PayPal’s business in APAC and requires close collaboration with senior management, business units, and government authorities. Key Responsibilities: Advise on potential commercial offerings (products), commercial deals, transactions, international expansion, corporate structuring, etc. Support and execute APAC related aspects of M&A tax strategy and integration plans for APAC acquisitions and new business ventures Lead tax planning and strategy projects Support tax controversy cases, incentive requests, and negotiations with tax authorities Review business contracts for income tax implications Review models assessing tax risks and corresponding financial impacts Establish strong relationships, demonstrate organizational and interpersonal skills to build a collaborative environment and foster open communication Collaborate cross-functionally with regional teams to assess tax ramifications of global initiatives Communicate local tax outcomes and legislative changes to the U.S. tax consolidation team Manage relationships with external advisors and contractors Job Requirements: Minimum 12 years of relevant corporate tax and tax planning experience, preferably with a large multinational Strong technical expertise with respect to international tax law (APAC) with experience evaluating and advising on complex tax positions, including proven experience in acquisition and integration tax planning Deep knowledge of OECD BEPS initiatives and their APAC implementation Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with an ability to effectively relate tax issues to non-tax personnel and skilled at communicating with upper management on a range of broad business plans Strong critical thinking ability for fast-paced, multi-regional work environments with excellent prioritization and organizational skills Basic knowledge of U.S. International tax law a plus Proficient in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel Bachelor of Laws (LLB) required, Juris Doctor (JD) or JD equivalent and/or Master of Laws (LLM) in taxation strongly preferred Self-motivated with strong project management skills PayPal is committed to building an equitable and inclusive global economy.
