Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN)
- Configure and install network hardware and software (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers)
- Monitor network performance and integrity
- Troubleshoot network issues and outages
- Ensure network security and connectivity
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations
- Collaborate with network architects on network optimization
- Document network configurations and operational procedures
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and IT team members
- Conduct network performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and drills.
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator
- Hands-on experience with networking, routing, and switching
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of network infrastructure
- Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network security
- Familiarity with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds)
- Professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+) are a plus
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation
- Understanding of SD-WAN and network virtualization technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
