- This position is responsible for the performance of component inspection programs, repairs, overhauls, modifications, maintenance, and preventative maintenance by workshop personnel and workshop operations.
- Supervising and directing all workshop personnel in the SAR-145 approved maintenance organization (AMO).
- Managing the company training program.
- Ensuring maintenance procedures are established and published within the workshop to achieve good maintenance practices and compliance with CAAS requirements, and that work is accomplished to the highest standards of airworthiness and workmanship.
- Coordinating component maintenance schedules and workshop schedules before and during the performance of all AMO functions.
- Assisting, supervising, and directing all maintenance personnel in the performance of their duties so that work is accomplished on schedule and in accordance with applicable CAAS requirements and company procedures.
- Ensuring the workshop personnel record the maintenance performed on maintenance forms and work orders daily.
- Training the workshop personnel in proper work practices, safety precautions, and proper handling and preservation of parts during the maintenance process.
- Assisting the Quality Manager in the maintenance and periodic calibration of precision tools and test equipment used by the workshop and other quality control duties when required.
- Leading in the evaluation, design, and implementation of expansion and promotion of component maintenance operations.
- Providing a common teardown report or worksheet system for the workshop and ensuring such documents comply with CAAS requirements.
- Ensuring proper entries are made into maintenance forms and work orders used by the company in accordance with CAAS requirements.
- Ensuring the availability of workshop facilities and environment appropriate to the planned work or tasks being undertaken.
- Ensuring the incoming inspection of components, parts, materials, tools and equipment, and their classification, segregation and storage are according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
- Developing a production planning system appropriate to the amount and complexity of the maintenance scope of work.
- Ensuring the facilities occupied by workshop personnel are kept in a clean and orderly condition.
- Guiding preliminary, hidden damage, in-progress, and final inspections of all aircraft components maintained by the workshop and recording results of such inspections.
- Guiding proper tagging and identification of all components and parts processed in the workshop.
- Ensuring all inspections are properly performed on all completed work before it is approved for return to service, and that the proper inspection and maintenance records, reports and forms required for each release are properly executed.
- Ensuring all applicable CAAS regulations are followed as they relate to contract maintenance.
- Responding to quality control and safety-related deficiencies arising from independent audits.
- Establishing the standards and procedures, in cooperation with the Quality Manager, for the training of all personnel employed including induction, familiarization, and recurrent training.
- Ensuring all employees have current proficiency relating to human factors in aviation and understand CAAS regulations and company manuals and procedures.
Qualifications
- Aviation experience of no less than 5 years in various managerial or supervisory roles, preferably in a workshop environment.
- Possess Polytechnic qualifications in Mechatronics/Mechanical/Electrical or Aerospace or its equivalent. A degree in Engineering will be advantageous.
- Passed Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) papers: Air Law (M10/L11/L12); Mechanical (B11, C11, A16) and/or Avionics (F11, F13) and preferably hold a CAAS workshop certifying staff with C1 and C7 ratings.
- Ability to read and interpret the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) requirements and write in English.

This position reports directly to the Accountable Manager.
