Associate Director, Client Relations at Aon. The Associate Director will work closely with the team leader or independently with minimal supervision to manage allocated accounts. The role includes direct client relationships with revenue > $50K and acting as the main point of contact for all clients under their care. The Associate Director will engage with internal and external collaborators at all levels to champion client initiatives and deliver distinctive client value in line with the Aon United Blueprint strategy.
Responsibilities- Build and maintain strong relationships with current clients; seek growth initiatives.
- Support new business efforts; assist with sales pitches to implementation for the first year, especially for Tier 1-3 clients.
- Coach and mentor client-facing colleagues across client servicing, broking, and related units serving mutual clients.
- Foster a high-performing team by aligning with Aon's core values and providing consistent feedback.
- Support revenue-generating projects and client value propositions; manage multiple tasks with high-quality results.
- Conduct market intelligence and discovery meetings to understand client needs and align Aon value propositions; monitor competitors to inform strategy.
- Strong listening, critical thinking, creativity, analytical skills; ability to engage in strategic thought leadership with clients and internal teams.
- Knowledge of insured and non-insured programs; experience in flexible benefits consulting, plan design, implementation, benchmarking, and M&A-related benefits harmonization.
- Ability to champion client initiatives within the Aon United Blueprint Strategy and related programs (Aon Client Promise, TBS Explorer, Aon Pulse, Aon Care, Wellbeing Solutions, Voluntary Benefits, etc.).
- Maintain professional relationships with internal collaborators across local, regional, and global teams.
- Support client activities and meetings; prepare and follow up on reports, minutes, and communications with Client Servicers.
- Build and maintain relationships with external vendors and providers aligned with growth strategies.
- Ensure collaboration between Client Relations and other functions (Broking, Claims, CoE, Flex, Admin, Legal) to deliver distinctive client value.
- Aim for year-over-year profitability of client portfolios; steer at-risk accounts back to profitability.
- Deliver timely, high-quality services aligned with client expectations to build trust.
- Identify service gaps and implement robust solutions to improve satisfaction.
- Monitor payment, credit control, and debt management within acceptable ranges.
- Act as the main point of contact for all clients and ensure high-quality deliverables with minimal errors.
- Create Client Value – drive efficient processes, high-quality deliverables, and win-win solutions for clients, carriers, and Aon.
- Develop Teams – coach others in presenting data, provide constructive feedback, and foster a collaborative environment.
- Enable Innovation – apply knowledge and experience to improve team effectiveness.
- Deliver Business Results – manage expectations and deliver value without compromising quality.
- Degree or Diploma from a recognized university or polytechnic.
- Minimum regulatory requirements for registration as Broking and FA representative with MAS.
- More than 10 years of related experience.
- In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs, funding mechanisms, broking processes, market segments, and client profiling.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and DEI-oriented mindset; capable of leading colleagues across functions.
- Ability to adapt to organizational changes and relate to senior stakeholders/C-suite.
