What You’ll Be Doing
Stakeholder & Strategic Leadership

• Act as the primary technical liaison between Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Product, and international partners for KYC and regulatory initiatives.
• Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, KYC vendors, and regional teams, to align technology with business and regulatory needs.
• Drive strategic partnerships with global KYC solution providers and ensure technical and operational alignment during integration and scaling.
• Translate evolving regulatory requirements into pragmatic and scalable mobile solutions that support international market growth.
  
  

Compliance & KYC Domain Leadership

• Lead the development and enhancement of KYC workflows, including facial recognition, document OCR, liveness detection, sanctions screening, and identity proofing.
• Evaluate and integrate best-in-class eKYC and compliance SDKs, ensuring compatibility with app architecture, performance standards, and user experience goals.
• Stay ahead of compliance trends and evolving requirements to inform roadmap decisions and platform strategy.
• Collaborate with the Risk and Security teams to implement and maintain secure, privacy-compliant mobile flows and data handling practices.
  
  

Engineering Excellence

• Own technical architecture and delivery for compliance-related features, ensuring code quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Foster a detail-oriented and learning-driven engineering culture, encouraging technical growth and exploration of complex domains.
• Balance strategic thinking with hands-on problem solving—comfortable diving into system-level details and performance debugging when needed.
• Collaborate closely with platform, backend, and mobile engineers to design scalable, modular solutions that can evolve with global regulatory needs.
  
  

What We Look For In You

• Strong cross-functional and stakeholder management skills, with proven success influencing decisions and aligning diverse teams in high-stakes environments.
• Domain expertise in KYC and compliance, including practical experience with identity verification, liveness detection, OCR/document validation, and fraud prevention systems.
• 8+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years in engineering leadership roles, preferably in regulated industries such as fintech, crypto, banking, or identity platforms.
• Demonstrated experience with mobile SDK integration, modular app architecture (Android/iOS), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and region-specific onboarding regulations.
• Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset and willingness to dive deep into technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; fluent in tailoring messages to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Bonus: Experience managing global technical partnerships or vendor integrations (e.g. Jumio, Onfido, Sumsub, or equivalent).
