Purpose Driven PositionReporting to the Director of Engineering, the Electromechanical Hardware Engineer is responsible for the efficient deployment and seamless operation of CarbonCure’s hardware systems. This role requires close collaboration with internal Program Management and Sales teams, and directly with customers, to ensure hardware is accurately specified, configured, deployed, installed, commissioned, and maintained for optimal performance and mutual success. The Engineering Specialist will also proactively identify operating requirements for new markets and drive product and process improvements based on field experience.
What you\'ll be doing- Lead and oversee the implementation of hardware installations at concrete plants in primarily the APAC region, ensuring timely, accurate setup according to company standards and client requirements.
- Communicate with clients to obtain their scope of work, specify a system for production, install the system and commission the system.
- Coordinate with CO2 tank suppliers as required to ensure seamless installation and/ or problem solving as it relates to system operations.
- If applicable, direct remote installation and commissioning, guiding contractors, customers, and on-site staff.
- Collaborate closely with internal Program and Account Management teams to align hardware installation timelines with project schedules.
- Manage a comprehensive hardware maintenance program, including regular inspections, troubleshooting protocols, and preventive procedures.
- Provide prompt and effective response to hardware issues reported by clients or field technicians, diagnosing problems and implementing solutions to minimize downtime.
- Resolve down systems in the specified regions.
- Perform remote recalibrations on a variety of systems to ensure they are running smoothly and effectively.
- Meticulously plan customer trips to ensure all hardware systems are operating on the latest software and are routinely inspected.
- Manage third-party partnerships with equipment responsibilities as required, which includes training and ongoing collaboration.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating existing processes, identifying areas for optimization, and implementing necessary changes.
- Identify requirements for new markets, ensuring all design and operational considerations are adequately addressed.
- Proactively analyze reliability trends and systemic issues, initiating design modifications and implementing robust change management processes.
- Inform internal teams of pertinent customer or supplier relationship developments and any hardware implications.
- Ensure system and installation tracking tools and records are accurately maintained and up to date.
- Provide timely leadership updates and respond to requests as required.
- Contribute to a safe working environment by adhering to all required compliance and safety programs at customer sites.
- Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Controls, Chemical, Process, Civil Engineering, or a closely related highly technical discipline. Alternatively, a college degree (Associate\'s or Bachelor\'s) in Engineering Technology (e.g., Electrical Engineering Technology, Electromechanical Technician, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering) will also be considered.
- Significant field experience in an industrial setting.
- Proven experience in hardware installation, maintenance, and support, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong expertise in PLC, industrial automation, wiring, and controls troubleshooting.
- Exceptional technical aptitude with the ability to understand, develop, and effectively communicate complex technical solutions to diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware systems and familiarity with relevant diagnostic tools and technologies.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and provide effective, client-facing problem-solving.
- Continuous improvement mindset, actively identifying and championing process or reliability enhancements.
- Ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines and thrive in a dynamic, highly variable environment.
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and successful project completion.
- Proficiency with various software including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence), Salesforce, Smartsheet, Zoom, and Slack.
- Concrete or construction experience is an asset
- Ability to travel as required and possession of a valid passport.
- This is a permanent, full-time remote position that will involve travel to a variety of customer sites and countries.
- Approximately 30% travel is required for this position.
- This position will support third-party partners and customers in the APAC region. As such, it is expected that international customers in different time zones will be accommodated through flexible working arrangements.
- A minimum of eight (8) hours Monday to Friday is required, with the possibility of additional time based on project and customer demand.
- Ability to work on your feet for long hours during installations and on-site troubleshooting.
