Head, Faculty Affairs (FA) – School of Civil & Environmental Engineering, Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU) Job Purpose The Head, Faculty Affairs provides strategic and operational leadership in managing all faculty‑related activities within the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering (CEE). The role oversees faculty recruitment and appointment, culture and development, space and infrastructure, and operations, ensuring that faculty are supported in teaching, research, service, and career development. This position plays a critical role in shaping faculty experience, enhancing engagement, and aligning with the School’s strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage all aspects of faculty recruitment and appointment, from outreach and selection to onboarding, appraisal, promotion, and reappointment. Own operational workflows, ensuring that each process meets deadlines and institutional standards. Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract and retain top‑tier academic talent. Drive initiatives to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive faculty culture. Lead the annual faculty performance appraisal process, ensuring timelines, accuracy, and compliance. Manage faculty engagement, recognition, and award nominations, and promote faculty research outputs through strategic platforms and events. Plan faculty succession and support career development and leadership opportunities. Oversee faculty welfare, safety, and case management, including mental‑health and well‑being initiatives. Plan space and infrastructure, including offices, laboratories, and common spaces, and support policy development and data analysis related to these areas. Serve as primary point of contact for faculty affairs queries from senior leadership and coordinate with CoE to ensure policy consistency. Engage with HR, finance, and administrative teams to align faculty affairs with institutional goals. Update and maintain relevant faculty information database and generate management reports for budget reviews and presentations. Provide support to team members as needed. Qualifications Recognized university Bachelor (or equivalent), Master, or PhD degree with at least 5 years of experience in people management.
