Accounting & Finance Executive

Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our finance team. This role will work alongside an Accounts Executive , complementing their day-to-day transactional scope with more technical and analytical accounting practices. Beyond preparing and managing accounts, the Accountant will also analyse financial performance, benchmark company results against industry averages, and contribute to decision-making discussions with management.Importantly, this role goes beyond the traditional view of accounting. The Accountant will be expected to act as a finance business partner - helping the company connect financial data with strategy, support decision-making, and provide insights that guide planning and resource allocation. In doing so, the role will also have key involvement in the strategic positioning of the company , including how we navigate an evolving business landscape shaped by environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations .We value fresh perspectives and welcome applications from fresh graduates who demonstrate strong analytical thinking and eagerness to learn, as well as experienced candidates who bring proven expertise.Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain the company's general ledger and chart of accounts. Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Work alongside the Accounts Executive to ensure accurate day-to-day accounting operations (payables, receivables, reconciliations). Analyse company accounts to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Benchmark company performance against industry averages and best practices. Contribute to planning and analysis activities, including budgeting, forecasting, scenario modelling, and KPI tracking. Prepare financial models, reports, and proposals to support management's strategic decision-making . Participate in discussions on business positioning, growth strategies, and ESG considerations . Provide insights on financial sustainability and resource allocation in relation to changing market and regulatory expectations. Collaborate with other departments on small and medium-sized projects, building cross-functional collaboration skills and contributing financial expertise. Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation. Recommend process improvements and strengthen governance and internal controls to ensure both compliance and efficiency. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) is advantageous but not mandatory. For experienced candidates: proven track record in accounting, financial reporting, and analysis. For fresh graduates: strong academic foundation, analytical skills, and demonstrated interest in accounting and finance. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or similar) and MS Excel. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and local regulatory requirements. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills. High attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity.
