Role Description

You will report to the Merchandising Manager. You manage the product category under your care, implement merchandising plans, product category strategies and manage internal and external partner relationships. You are responsible for ensuring procurement of the category is done within allocated OTB and sales budget.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for product categories allocated, for example, Fiction, Non-Fiction, Children or Young Adult, etc.
  • Update monthly sell through analysis report, monitor stocks inventory, replenishment and stock aging.
  • Analyze cost of category merchandising.
  • Organize relevant information for negotiation with business partners.
  • Liaise with suppliers on promotional activities and prompt delivery of stocks.
  • Provide feedback on quality and effectiveness of partnership.
  • Source for products.
  • Assist with merchandising related administrative duties.
  • Conduct regular store visits to ensure that Company's merchandising standards are met.
  • Assist in major Fairs, Campaigns and Events.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years in relevant experience in similar capacity with proven track record of category management in retail.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs, knowledge in SAP is an added advantage.
  • Inventory Management, Stock Control, and Supplier Coordination skills.
  • Experience in Sales Data Analysis and Promotional Planning.
  • Knowledge of English literature and market trends in English books.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team collaboration skills and ability to work on-site.
