Overview

Director Talent Acquisition at Alibaba Group

The responsibility is to design and implement talent solutions to meet Alibaba Cloud's explosive business growth. This includes:

  • Designing and executing a comprehensive international talent acquisition strategy to meet the organization's evolving needs.
  • Lead team to collaborate closely with hiring managers and partners to understand staffing needs and provide strategic guidance on best practices in talent acquisition.
  • Sourcing, qualifying and hiring across countries/business units, primarily for Business Development, Pre-Sales and AI technology related roles; assisting to drive our solutions/products to expand our business globally and develop Alibaba Cloud's cutting-edge technologies globally.
  • Articulating the risk and benefits of a hire, mitigating hiring risk by identifying pros and cons for each hiring, especially for senior level positions; advising principals and methods about making right hiring decisions, enabling hiring managers and other interviewers to improve their skillset by providing trainings, sharing and case studies.
  • Creating robust pipelines, leveraging existing talent programs and initiatives to attract potential candidates, enhance Alibaba's employer brand by spreading our talent strategy through all channels, social networking and talent events.
  • Being an ambassador for Alibaba Cloud, providing a great candidate experience that lends genuine insight into our culture and what it's like to really work here.
  • Effectively managing all resources, systems and tools; leading the optimization of recruitment systems and implementing AI-driven solutions to drive recruiting efficiency and innovation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree and over 10 years of recruitment experience, with a strong emphasis on global hiring across multiple regions. Extensive experience in the high-tech industry, particularly within the cloud business sector.
  • A proven track record of building robust talent pools and conducting in-depth talent mapping, with a solid understanding of industry trends and job requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with global candidates and conduct effective negotiations.
  • A demonstrated ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment, driving the recruitment process and ensuring timely filling of critical roles.
  • Outstanding command of English and Mandarin is required for effective written and verbal communication, as this position entails collaboration with stakeholders at our headquarters in China.
