Responsibilities
  • The examination of patients to evaluate functional ability in terms of mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
  • The identification of potential impairments, movement, and functional limitations.
  • The planning of appropriate goals, treatment plan and timeframe.
  • Implementation of treatment plan. Re-evaluate and modify treatment as required.
  • Physiotherapy assessment and intervention planning based on patient condition, including manual therapy, electro-therapeutic modalities, and functional training.
  • Provide walking aids and assistive devices as indicated; educate patients and caregivers; maintain accurate patient records.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, attend regular team meetings, participate in discharge planning, and communicate with team members and external agencies.
  • Maintain professional standards of practice, confidentiality, and continuous learning; participate in department meetings and trainings; supervise therapy aide and Physiotherapy students as required.
  • Update patient statistics daily; participate in policy implementation and maintenance of department equipment; plan coverage and lead services as required.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations; attend CPR, manual handling, and fire safety courses; read and follow the Infection Control Manual.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Physiotherapy (recognized by AHPC).
  • Post-graduate qualification or certification in treatment techniques is an advantage.
  • Registered with the Singapore AHPC with valid practicing certificate.
  • Highly encouraged to be a member of the Singapore Physiotherapy Association.
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant working experience; experience in geriatric community hospital, long-term care, or nursing home settings is advantageous.
  • Strong teamwork skills, compassion, and ability to relate to patients from diverse backgrounds; capable of coordinating daily department operations and promoting a collegial work environment.
  • Rotational post within Ren Ci Hospital settings (Community Hospital, Nursing Home, Senior Care Centre).
