Overview

Data Analytics Senior Lead Engineer (Senior Vice President) at Citi. We are seeking an experienced leader to drive our Big Data and Data Analytics initiatives, oversee the development and implementation of advanced analytics solutions, and manage a team of data professionals.

• Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the strategic roadmap for big data and data analytics initiatives, align with overall business objectives, identify opportunities to leverage data for competitive advantage, innovation, and enhanced decision-making; translate complex business problems into data analytics solutions and strategic programs.
• Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data scientists, data engineers, business intelligence analysts, and other data professionals; foster a collaborative and innovative team environment; manage resource allocation, performance reviews, and career development plans.
• Solution Design & Implementation: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable big data platforms, data warehouses, and data lakes; drive the implementation of advanced analytics, machine learning models, and predictive analytics; ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across all data initiatives.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business units to understand data needs and deliver tailored analytical solutions; communicate complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership; act as a subject matter expert and advocate for data-driven decision-making.
• Technology & Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging big data technologies, analytics trends, and industry best practices; evaluate and recommend new tools, platforms, and methodologies to enhance data capabilities; champion innovation in data collection, processing, storage, and analysis.
• Operational Excellence: Establish and monitor KPIs for data analytics initiatives; ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal security policies; manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful execution of data projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related quantitative field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in big data, data analytics, business intelligence, or related field; 5+ years of leadership experience managing large teams of data professionals.
• Proven track record of delivering impactful data-driven solutions in a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong awareness of data tools and platforms (Hadoop ecosystem, Spark, Kafka, Flink); proficiency in cloud-based data platforms (AWS) including Redshift, Snowflake, Starburst, S3, Dataiku; expertise in data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL); programming in Python, Spark, Scala, or Java; experience with BI and data visualization tools (Tableau, Cognos); knowledge of batch job management (Autosys) and data modeling; awareness of data catalog tools (e.g., Collibra).
• Leadership & Soft Skills: Strategic thinking, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to influence stakeholders, strong organizational and project management skills, and a track record of building and retaining high-performing teams.
• Preferred Skills: Experience in financial services or regulated environments; familiarity with MLOps and deploying ML models in production; knowledge of data governance frameworks; cloud/data analytics certifications.
