The Quantum Innovation Centre at A*STAR is seeking an independent and motivated Mechanical Engineer, recent graduate or early career, to develop next-generation quantum sensors for real-world applications.
About the Role:You will be part of a multidisciplinary team working on designing, assembling, and testing optomechanical components, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in designing optomechanical subcomponents and housings for quantum sensors using CAD tools.
- Support the assembly and testing of mechanical and thermal systems.
- Oversee procurement and liaise with vendors.
- Collaborate with physicists and electronics engineers for seamless integration.
- Learn and grow under supervision, gaining valuable industry experience.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Optical Physics, Applied Physics, or related fields.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor).
- Interest in precision engineering and emerging technologies.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
