Overview

What the role is: You oversee the strategic dissemination of information and messaging in support of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF)'s missions, long-term objectives and operations, leading a branch to develop and deliver timely, effective information to key stakeholders.

What you will be working on
  • Lead development and implementation of comprehensive information delivery plans
  • Develop and execute crisis communication plans
  • Oversee creation and curation of informational materials
  • Coordinate with other branches and departments to ensure messaging alignment
  • Develop methodologies to monitor and measure media activities' effectiveness
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to improve public communication efforts
  • Lead a diverse team of planners, analysts and support staff
  • Challenge(s): Embrace steep learning curves while providing accurate, relevant and timely products; work under time pressure in a fast-paced information environment; be flexible and adaptive to rapid changes and new developments; manage diverse stakeholders across several agencies; lead and coordinate teams effectively
What we are looking for
  • Education in Mass Communications or Social Sciences (e.g., Political Science, International Relations, Psychology, Economics)
  • At least 10 years of working experience with prior managerial experience in related industries/fields
  • Strong analytical skills and writing abilities
  • Good awareness of Singapore's political, defence and security developments
  • Knowledge of current affairs
  • Acute awareness of regional and international media environment
  • Understanding of how media can be leveraged to advance MINDEF/SAF interests
