What You Will Be Working On Ensure manual/backend assessment of returns are accurately completed and on time by examining and finalising the assessments cases; exercising the knowledge of the account and applying guidelines, tax legislation to identify incorrect treatments of tax-deductible expenses, chargeable income etc; and contacting external parties to clarify the information in the return or gather extra information where necessary Conduct targeted education programs or visits for selected industry groups to enhance voluntary compliance Ensure risk areas of respective industry groups are managed in an effective and efficient manner Carry out compliance program case selection to improve voluntary compliance Plan compliance program case reviews What We Are Looking For Background in Accountancy, Business Administration or Economics with at least 5 years of experience handling corporate tax work Practical experience in tax assessment functions e.g. Income Tax or Corporate Tax and accounting Good knowledge of corporate income tax laws and practices Knowledge of principals of accounting, tax and company law Knowledge of the audit process, audit methodologies available, consequences of the different types of audit determinations etc Preferably have basic GST knowledge Strong ability to question and probe Meticulous and analytical Good verbal, written communication skills and negotiation skills Resourceful and able to work independently in a team environment Organised and systematic in handling information and data Seniority level Entry level Employment type Contract Job function Finance and Accounting/Auditing Industries Government Administration #J-18808-Ljbffr
