Export Control Senior Manager, Regulatory & Contracts - APAC

This position is based in Singapore and is crucial for ensuring that Schneider Electric’s Asia Pacific region complies with international trade and sanctions laws and regulations. The role involves monitoring geopolitical developments and regulatory changes daily.

The candidate will also ensure that contracts with suppliers, customers, distributors, carriers, and customs brokers comply with relevant laws by working with zone export control teams and stakeholders to review clauses such as Export Control, Incoterms, Contract Termination, or Force Majeure. Strong communication skills are essential for supporting negotiations and compliance activities.

The role reports to the Regional Export Control Director, Asia Pacific, within the Global Export Control Center of Excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and Interpretation of Trade Laws: Lead or coordinate efforts to monitor and interpret international trade and sanctions laws affecting the Asia Pacific region, including U.S., E.U., and regional regulations.
  • Impact Analysis and Process Development: Analyze impacts of regulatory changes and support the development of processes to ensure compliance.
  • Communication and Advocacy: Communicate changes and advocate for regulatory updates at the APAC level.
  • Contracts Review & Management: Ensure contracts comply with trade laws by reviewing clauses and developing templates.
  • Training & Support: Conduct training on export control and sanctions clauses and support related projects.
  • Ad-hoc Projects: Support special projects and initiatives related to export control and sanctions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree; law or advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive export control experience, preferably in a multinational company.
  • 10-15 years of knowledge in export control and sanctions regulations, including licensing, classification, reporting, and program management.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% domestically and internationally.
  • Proven leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and excellent communication skills.
