• Support in leading Electrical Engineering practices and DC development, reporting to the Chief Development and Engineering Officer. Assist in standardisation of DC design and build across the region.
• Serve as Electrical engineering subject matter expert, collaborating with stakeholders and consultants during concept design, detailed design, procurement, bidding, SAT, delivery, and installation on site. Identify and resolve issues raised by cross-functional teams.
• Update and maintain internal design specifications, drawings, and standards with the latest configurations and lessons learned. Perform design and equipment submittal reviews for new Data Centers.
• Liaise with internal business units and external customers to translate technical requirements into executable implementation plans by consultants and/or contractors.
• Possess knowledge of Building Management System/DCIM; understand system architecture and point schedules. Experience with BMS/DCIM enhancement projects.
• Evaluate design, construction, and operation of mission-critical facilities and associated MEP components.
• Participate in and review Data Center MEP design and other necessary disciplines for new data center builds and data hall fit-outs.
• Foster collaboration to enhance MEP design to meet future needs and develop innovative solutions.
• Own conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions to add capacity, improve availability, and increase sustainability.
• Support DC operations to become a subject matter expert and help overcome design limitations and risks; partner with DC operations to troubleshoot electrical system issues.
• Provide technical guidance for system upgrades, retrofits, and lifecycle management.
• Conduct site inspections, system audits, and performance evaluations.
• Interface with internal stakeholders to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services.
• Liaise with Operations to identify and resolve Electrical System issues and provide solutions.
• Perform technical design reviews and proposals for DC first-of-kind systems and equipment.
• Review data center commissioning scripts to ensure testing covers all modes of operations; witness key commissioning tests on site.
• Conduct on-site inspections and work with field engineers; provide engineering evaluations and start-up support as needed.
• Maintain positive, collaborative relations with partner teams, vendors, teammates, and internal customers.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of project managers, engineering managers and energy managers; foster a culture of excellence.
• Enable a culture of creativity, collaboration, speed, innovation and continuous improvement in engineering and DC development.
• Involve in green and brown-field projects (site selection, project teams, consultant onboarding, design and tender, construction, etc.).
• Shortlist and engage best-in-class consultants for design development and tender preparation, including project cost budgeting.
• Lead engineering technology and construction methodology R&D to improve electrical system design, DC energy and water efficiency, build efficiency, operation productivity and sustainability.
• Lead engineering studies, feasibility studies, technology research, business case preparation for board presentations and approvals.
• Other duties as assigned to support business growth.
• Collaborate with the core team to develop and update DC electrical designs from basis of design to IFC documents for new builds and major upgrades; test and commission across all levels.
• Assist in preparing project budgets, cost estimates and procurement strategies; evaluate vendor proposals and participate in tenders.
• Collaborate with internal units, operations and external customers to translate technical requirements into executable plans; resolve design and implementation challenges.
• Promote engineering standards and consistency across regional projects.
• Ensure compliance with local and international codes, standards and regulations (e.g., IEEE, IEC, NFPA, ISO).
• Identify and mitigate risks related to electrical systems, safety and operational continuity.

• Minimum bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 12 years of experience, with 5 years in people management.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant data centre experience involving DC development and engineering works.
• Knowledge of large-scale mission-critical facility mechanical infrastructure systems.
• Experience with fast-track design/build projects or multiple major upgrades.
• Strong electrical background with ability to lead design requirements, identify SPOFs, oversee fault analysis and solve complex electrical problems.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills (English).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; proven leadership of engineers and consultants.
• Willingness to travel within the Asia Pacific region.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, standards and commissioning practices.
