Overview

Financial Controller, Head of Finance and Strategy (West area) – Newly created role in the West area. You will report to the CFO based in Bangkok, Thailand, providing technical expertise in the delivery of sound business/financial solutions for tactical and strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Management Team and ExCom in setting mid- and long-term goals, providing finance-related inputs and forecasting financial outcomes.
  • Develop annual plan budget in line with strategy. Work with CEO to obtain budget approval from ExCom and BOD.
  • Ensure accurate P&L across products, channels, and other relevant breakdowns.
  • Analyze performance (financial and operational, including synergies) and prepare appropriate reports for Management Team and ExCom.
  • Continuously refine reports to address Management Team and ExCom needs.
  • Establish financial management and accounting policies across subsidiaries in line with best practices; continuously improve efficiency of financial management and reporting processes; integrate financial reporting and controlling system into the processes.
  • Coordinate with Management Team and Investment Management team to prepare feasibility studies of proposed investments; prepare presentations for ExCom and BOD.
  • Optimize capital structure and manage working capital; advise on capital expenditures.
  • Closely monitor P&L and operational performance, reporting progress against plan to Management Team and ExCom.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and work with Management Team to implement systems and processes to drive: operational efficiency, cost control (SG&A, OPEX), and margin control (GP).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial and industry regulations (Singapore Accounting and Tax regulations).
  • Identify and mitigate financial, operational, and external risks.
  • Identify and implement financial optimization opportunities (e.g., tax, depreciation, write-offs).
Skills / Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a mainstream university or professional qualifications (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with minimum 7 years of relevant experience, with proven leadership and strong business partnering skills.
  • Strong in business partnering, a good team player with commercially oriented mindset, high energy and hands-on attitude.
  • Operationally in tune with the business with keen eye for analysis and details; strong business acumen and commercial sense.
  • Results-oriented with understanding of business operations and key drivers; ability to balance cost control with value add; strong communication and presentation skills (oral and written).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, good judgment, independence, and initiative.
