What the role is: As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on understanding the information environment, you lead research efforts to keep abreast of the rapidly changing information environment and technological landscape. What you will be working on: - Plan, coordinate and lead research and analysis on the information environment- Organise horizon-scanning efforts for emerging technologies and important developments- Explore new tools and platforms for monitoring and analysis work- Work closely with stakeholders to design and implement analytical tools and software- Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams to design and implement strategies- Oversee the information database in support of doctrine developmentChallenge(s)- Breaking new ground to develop knowledge and understanding in a new area- Quickly sense-making ongoing developments and translating data into actionable insights- Working steadily under time pressure while remaining flexible and adaptive to changes- Collaborating with various stakeholders across several agencies What we are looking for: - Education in Computer Science, Mass Communications and Media, or Psychology is preferred- At least 6 years of work experience in a technology, communications or research-related role- Strong leadership abilities, good analytical skills, and writing ability- Awareness of Singapore's political, defence and security developments, as well as current affairs- Acute awareness of regional and international technological developments- Creative problem-solving aptitude and proactive mindset towards addressing research challenges- Strong foundation or interest in research methodologies and theories in Media Studies- Ability to work well in a team- Proficiency in a vernacular language is advantageousOnly shortlisted candidates will be notified.
