Senior Analyst and Team Lead – ASEAN Private Markets

Smartkarma connects investment research analysts to institutional asset managers, such as sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, private equity, boutiques and family offices. Smartkarma’s cloud-based platform leverages technology to provide a network for independent research analysts to curate and monetize research in an innovative and new way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own overall responsibility for publishing high-impact research on venture capital- and private equity-backed businesses and industries in ASEAN for institutional investors.
  • Develop and implement research frameworks to provide independent commentary on ASEAN business and industry trends and opportunities.
  • Oversee research pipelines, including management of networks of analysts and vendors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals, clients, and media to support primary research and thought leadership.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in equity research, private equity and/or venture capital markets.
  • Deep understanding of ASEAN private markets, key businesses and industries, including bridging the gap between private companies and public-market investors.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality research and investment insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience communicating with senior stakeholders and clients.
  • Forward-looking tech and entrepreneurial mindset; comfort leveraging AI tools and alternative datasets to scale the unit while incorporating an owner mindset.
