Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), a 795-bed general and acute care hospital, opened in June 2010. Serving more than 550,000 people living in the northern sector of Singapore, KTPH combines medical expertise with high standards of personalised care, set within a healing environment, to provide care that is good enough for our own loved ones.

This role applies knowledge and skills to diagnose, manage and perform general surgeries. A Senior Consultant / Consultant Surgeon should be competent in all general surgical conditions and be an expert in a relevant subspecialized field of general surgery.

Senior Consultants / Consultants have responsibilities in the areas of Clinical, Education, Research and Administration. This includes developing and leading intradepartmental and interdepartmental clinical services, teaching and mentoring of junior doctors, scholarly activities and involvement in non-clinical administrative duties in the hospital.

Job Requirements
  • Possess medical qualification from one of the Universities/Medical Institutions listed in the Schedules of the Singapore Medical Council;
  • Eligible for Conditional or Full registration with the Singapore Medical Council;
  • Completed specialist training with qualification that is registration with the Specialist Accreditation Board;
  • Registered as a specialist doctor in the country where the specialist training was completed;
  • Possess good track record in leadership quality and working in a multidisciplinary team setting;
  • Be in active clinical practice in the past 3 years in the relevant specialty;
  • Candidate whose basic medical qualification is not conducted in the English language must provide evidence of English Proficiency and meet the acceptable score specified by the Singapore Medical Council.
