With a newly launched hub in Singapore, Rokstone is building a disciplined and specialist Marine portfolio backed by a multi-year USD 25 million Lloyd’s capacity from Tokio Marine Kiln. The Singapore operation focuses on Marine Construction (Builders Risk), Cargo, Hull, and Liability. Role Summary The Senior Marine Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting, developing, and managing a profitable portfolio of marine insurance products in the Asia Pacific region. This includes Hull & Machinery, Cargo, Marine Liabilities, and Builders Risk. The role demands strategic risk assessment, broker relationship management, and portfolio growth aligned with Rokstone’s disciplined underwriting philosophy. Key Responsibilities Underwrite new and renewal marine business within delegated authority and governance frameworks. Evaluate, accept, reject, or modify risks in line with underwriting guidelines. Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients across Singapore and the wider Asia Pacific region. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth workflow and client satisfaction. Contribute to the development and execution of the regional Marine Business Plan. Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior underwriters. Represent Rokstone in industry forums and working groups, including cyber and sustainability initiatives. Skills & Experience Minimum 8–10 years of marine underwriting experience, preferably in Hull & Liability, Cargo, and Builders Risk. Proven track record of underwriting profitability and portfolio development. Strong broker network and market knowledge across Southeast Asia. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with Lloyd’s market practices and capacity deployment. Professional qualifications such as ACII or equivalent preferred.
