Key Responsibilities Supports Finance related Change projects pertaining to systems implementation, Product development, Business initiatives and process improvement within the Singlife’s businesses in Singapore including Individual Life and Health, Group, General Insurance and Investment administration. Assists the team in providing accounting entries expertise at transaction level to facilitate product launches and system enhancements. Participates in Product development and Business initiatives discussions to assess potential impact to Financial Reporting, Finance processes and systems, including accounting treatment of Premium recognition, Commission, Payment, Cash management, Reporting & Tax. Supports senior team members in the review of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) based on new accounting entries setup at transactional level in multiple policy admin systems. Identifies and recommends process improvement opportunities relating to policy administration system controls to achieve process efficiencies at departmental level. Keeps him/herself abreast of developments in Financial Reporting Standards (FRS), tax rules, statutory and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance in new product launches and systems implementation and evaluates the impact of developments on systems and processes. Assists in the team’s provision of Finance related technical support to business users and other cross‑functional departments such as IT and Delivery. Participates in ad‑hoc projects as and when assigned. The success of the role will be measured via accuracy and timeliness of the deliverables, how well the individual will build relationship within the team, taking initiative to solidify his/her understanding of policy admin systems to solve problems together. Being detail oriented, having strong double entry foundation and problem‑solving skills will be the primary requirements for the individual selected for this role. Requirements Experience 1‑2 years of good working knowledge of accounting and financial aspects. Experienced in General Ledger, AP/AR end‑to‑end processing. Strong problem‑solving skills with an analytical mind. Strong desire for process improvement and a keen eye on details. In‑depth knowledge of internal control principles and practices. Highly motivated with ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. Ability to come out with potential solutions that are presented in a structured manner. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Comfortable to work with a wide range of stakeholders, both at individual and team level. Good understanding of insurance products and impact on finance related functions. Good working knowledge of Oracle & AS400. Academic: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting &/or Finance.
