What the role is: Temp Student Support Officer (Special Educational Needs) What you will be working on: Provide individualised support to students in managing challenging behaviours in school, including support management for meltdowns Support the Special Educational Needs (SEN) team to implement behaviour intervention and learning support plans for students with SEN in collaboration with academic team and other stakeholders Maintain records of student progress and interventions implemented Assist with organising and implementing programmes for students with SEN Partner with SEN team, academic team and other stakeholders to create a supportive environment conducive to the success of students with SEN Help in managing the SEN consultation office The candidate selected for the position may be offered up to a year's contract. What we are looking for: Relevant qualification in Inclusive and Special Education, Education, Psychology, Applied or Educational Psychology, Counselling and/or relevant areas At least 3 years of experience supporting students with SEN, preferably in an educational or social service sector setting Resourceful and good problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse background, and collaboratively with different stakeholders in student support Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team setting Excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) and administrative skills IT proficiency in data management, with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint Experience in facilitating workshops and events management would be an advantage Passion and disposition to care for and work with students with SEN.
