As a Cyber Threat (SOC) Analyst, you will analyze events within the Company's environment using data from various cyber defense tools such as intrusion detection system alerts, firewall logs, network traffic logs, and host system logs. You are also responsible for 24x7 monitoring of internal and external sources to maintain current threat awareness, assess security issues, and provide accurate incident evaluations for escalation.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform round-the-clock surveillance of the company's information assets using cyber defense tools to monitor internal and external sources.
  • Detect, identify, and alert on possible attacks, intrusions, anomalous activities, and misuse activities, distinguishing these from benign activities.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze system activities to identify malicious behavior.
  • Respond to threats and vulnerabilities in software and hardware.
  • Develop scripts and fine-tune SIEM rules to automate triage and analysis processes.
  • Provide incident response support as needed.
  • Generate actionable cyber threat intelligence from various sources, including open and commercial intelligence.
  • Actively hunt for indicators of compromise (IOCs), threat actor groups, and TTPs within the environment.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields in Information Security.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a SOC or CERT/CIRT environment.
  • Strong ability to interpret network tool data (e.g., ping, traceroute, nslookup).
  • Security certifications (e.g., GSEC, GCIH, GCIA, GCTI, GCFA, GCFE, GNFA) and scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) are advantageous.
  • Experience with OWASP Top 10, CVSS, MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, and DevSecOps is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of various network types (LAN, WAN, MAN, wireless networks).
  • Familiarity with incident response methodologies.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, with flexibility for shift pattern changes based on business needs.
