Vessel Accountant

Responsibilities Support the full range of vessel accounting activities under the direction of the Vessel Accounting Manager Carry out daily accounting functions, including inputting data into accounting platforms, preparing journal vouchers, and assembling relevant supporting documents f or financial records Oversee reconciliation processes for balance sheet items tied to assigned vessels, such as master cash, bond store, accruals, and critical accounts Prepare and analyse monthly financial reports and variance assessments for vessels, providing key input to decision-makers Ensure that all vessel accounts are accurate, comprehensive, and completed on schedule each month Adhere strictly to internal accounting policies and established financial standards throughout all operations Collaborate with colleagues and provide administrative assistance for General Ledger (GL) and Accounts Payable (AP) procedures Deliver timely and precise journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation Requirements Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (educational qualification integrated) Recognised professional accounting credentials are highly desirable Proven experience in vessel accounting or within ship management firms is considered a strong advantage Demonstrated expertise in accounting practices, with a sharp focus on detail and accuracy Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for accounting applications. #J-18808-Ljbffr
