Job Description - Manager, Research Ops (Common title: Senior Research Officer 1/11)

We are looking for an experienced operations manager to assist the Director of Planning & Operations and the lead of research operations in managing the research operations of the A*STAR Skin Research Labs (SRL).

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Assist in a broad range of operational functions, including business continuity coordination to enable scientific research in A*STAR SRL.
  • Operational functions include space management, central supplies procurement, goods receipt management, event coordination (e.g., lab tours, management visits), mailbox management, and liaising with facilities management and IT support.
  • Assist with other research operations activities, such as covering lab operations as needed.
Job Requirements:
  • A degree in the Sciences or related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a research environment with demonstrated operational expertise.
  • Experience in administration and lab operations is an advantage.
  • Highly organized, process-oriented, self-motivated, detail-oriented, with problem-solving skills and the ability to leverage technology.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to manage challenges and unexpected situations.
  • Strong judgment, initiative, and proactive team attitude.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible in adjusting to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
