What The Role Is The Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) that pioneers innovation solutions and develops world‑class science and technology capabilities to transform and empower the Home Team. This role focuses on advancing robotics and unmanned systems through research, design and development. Your work will involve designing robot planners, developing robot skills for Home Team operations, and managing datasets for AI model training. Key responsibilities include optimizing embodied AI systems with reinforcement learning, Sim2Real transfer and domain randomisation, deploying systems in real‑world environments, ensuring scalability, robustness and continual performance improvements. Responsibilities Develop algorithms that enable robots to perceive their environment, process sensor data and make real‑time decisions. Implement machine learning models such as reinforcement or imitation learning to train robots for specific tasks. Ground embodied AI systems so that high‑level reasoning is accurately translated into physical actions. Integrate AI models with robotic hardware, including sensors, actuators and control systems. Fine‑tune robot planners that translate task plans into actionable motions and control commands. Ensure embodied AI systems adhere to hardware constraints and respond efficiently to dynamic environments. Deploy AI models onto physical robots, ensuring scalability and reliability across platforms. Monitor performance in real‑world settings and iterate for continuous improvement. Requirements Tertiary education in engineering; preferably a degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Mechatronics/Robotics/Computer Science/Artificial Intelligence. Post‑graduate degree a plus. Strong academic and research background in robotics or AI. Minimum 2 years of experience in robotics, AI or related fields. Solid understanding of machine learning, reinforcement learning, computer vision, sensor fusion, robotics simulation (e.g., Isaac Sim, MuJoCo) and model deployment. Experience developing robotics involving sensor fusion and AI. Excellent teamwork, self‑motivation, sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure. Creative problem‑solving mindset, strong analytical, planning and project management skills. PMP, systems engineering or equivalent certification a plus.
