ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Solutions Engineer will combine technical knowledge with sales skills to provide pre-sales support to potential customers in the Asia Pacific region, including China and Oceania. This role requires fluency in Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking customers and a deep understanding of cultural nuances across these regions. Acting as a strategic partner in the team selling process, the engineer will identify opportunities for product differentiation and craft compelling value propositions. Close collaboration with the sales team to understand and respond to customer requirements with effective technical solutions is crucial. The role involves product demonstrations, effective communication, and building strong relationships with customers.
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Technical Knowledge:
Develop a comprehensive understanding of our products & services, focusing on their applications within the Asia Pacific markets. Gain familiarity with basic data handling and analysis. Experience with data tools is beneficial but not required. Stay informed about regional market trends and competitive products. Experience with SQL and Python are helpful. Exposure to REST API technology and large data warehousing tools.Pre-Sales Support:
Collaborate with the sales team to capture customer needs and develop tailored technical solutions. Conduct product demonstrations and presentations tailored to a diverse client base in the region. Address and resolve technical queries during the sales engagement process. Assist in the onboarding process post-sales and where necessary in customer queries.Customer Engagement:
Establish and maintain robust relationships with customers by aligning our technical solutions with their business objectives. Work alongside customers to explore possibilities for custom solutions or enhancements. Engage directly with customers on-site to thoroughly understand their technical and business environments.Proposal Development:
Assist in crafting technical proposals and documentation that align with customer needs and reflect the value of our products. Ensure that all technical proposals meet customer expectations and regional requirements.Collaboration:
Liaise with internal teams, including product development, marketing, and support, to share customer feedback and enhance our offerings. Partner with the sales team to refine sales strategies and approaches based on regional dynamics.Training and Support:
Provide ongoing training to the sales team, focusing on the technical features most relevant to the Asia Pacific markets. Support the implementation and optimization of our products post-sale.CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
Proven experience in a sales or technical role, with a strong understanding of the Asia Pacific business landscape. Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, IT, or a related field. Proficiency in Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking customers and an understanding of cultural practices across Asia Pacific regions. Demonstrated ability to simplify complex technical details for a non-technical audience. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Capability to solve problems creatively and effectively. Sales acumen with a customer-focused approach. Ability to work both in a team setting and independently. Willingness to travel within the region – approximately 15%. Experience with aviation and airline data is a plus.
