Experience in Insurance Industry with solid functional knowledge Knowledge of SMART/400 based insurance applications specialized in Life/400, Life/Asia application is needed. Experience in writing functional and technical specifications and overseeing the development. Experience with RDBMS, Data Modelling, and SQL language Understanding of Enterprise Data Management and ETL techniques and processes Any exposure in java programming will be an added advantage. Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyses system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Candidate for this role must have:

Bachelor’s Degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent Have at least five years’ experience and proven performance in software engineering, including problem analysis and resolution, requirements analysis and definition, design, code, and integration testing. Proven ability to take responsibility for significant tasks, complete them on schedule and document and present the results. Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients Good analytical and problem-solving skills Good communication skills Good skills in data administration, design and architecture Ability to work in a team environment
