Financial Controller (Based in Sydney / Australia)

Key responsibilities:

Overall control of all financial, tax and audit matters which includes but not limited to Month end close and monthly management reportingMonthly cash flow analysis and forecasting for all entities within the groupTax computation, analysis and forecasting, liaise with tax advisors on tax payable, thin capitalisation and transfer pricing matters for the groupBank debt reporting and adherence to loan covenantsEnsure fixed asset registers (both tax and accounting) are updated and currentResponsibility for the annual audit process and overall project management delivery for preparation of the statutory accounts Overall cash management – including capital expenditure and projects Lead and manage the budgeting processTreasury matters including bank financing, hedging transactionsInsurance/risk managementLead and develop finance teamResponsibility for ensuring the robustness of financial controls and processesReview of the performance, cashflows and balance sheet of the underlying property assetsAssist in any acquisition or disposal of the property assets which includes but not limited to Financial due diligenceLiaison in the setting up of new entities and bank accountsAssist in bank financing and re-financingFinancial modelling and analysis including preparation of internal valuationsAssist in calculation of returns on investment Assist in formulating the company’s future direction and supporting tactical initiativesDevelop financial and tax strategiesUnderstand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile, monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry and maintain appropriate insurance coverageHandle any other task that is assigned by the supervisor from time to lime as deemed necessary to carry out the duties

Key requirements:

10+ years of experience in a senior financial managerial position preferably with a property, hospitality or investment industry background handling month end close, management reporting, cash flow analysis, tax and statutory filing requirements for a comparable organisation in size, scale and complexity; and covering Australia and New Zealand operationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and professional accounting qualifications such as CA or CPAExceptional interpersonal communication, high degree of emotional intelligence and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate and manage staff at all levelsAbility to collaborate with team members outside of finance as well as upper management to organise, plan and achieve company financial goalsSound decision-making skills based on accurate and timely analysesResults-oriented and metrics-drivenExceptional time management and ability to solve problems Ability to lead by example and demonstrate a strong sense of integrity, ethics and dependabilityProfessional written and oral communication skillsConfident in presenting results to an audienceStrategic thinking, planning and creative problem-solving skillsAbility to work under pressureAdvanced computer software skills, including Excel and financial reporting software
