The Team You Will Work With:

Carta is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to become our first accounting hire based in the Asia Pacific region. The role will be reporting to the International Controller based in the UK and working as part of the wider International Accounting team.

This individual will be a key member of the International Accounting team and will help to implement and drive process improvements, and be the key contact for all aspects of accounting and taxes for our subsidiaries in Asia Pacific; specifically our entity in Singapore, Australia and planned expansion into the Middle East.

The scope of the role is broad with exposure to many areas of accounting and finance as well as cross functional work with other departments throughout the company.

The Problems You’ll Solve:

This role will be responsible for:

Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures, post journal entries, and prepare account reconciliations in line with corporate close deadlines. Prepare and process all monthly accounting adjustments including accruals and prepayments. Accounts Payable processing, ensuring that all vendor invoices are posted timely, accurately and preparing payment runs in accordance with payment terms. Accounts Receivable processing, customer billing and collections, working closely alongside the local commercial teams and US based revenue team.  Manage and perform cash functions including the preparation of timely bank reconciliations and funding requirements for the international entities. Work with 3rd party accounting and payroll service providers to ensure that all local statutory accounting and tax compliance obligations are identified and filed timely. Manage the end-to-end statutory audit process working closely with external auditors. Assist with the preparation and filing of GST/indirect and corporate/direct tax returns alongside external tax advisors. Payroll processing working alongside the International Payroll Team and HR Business Partners in gathering all relevant employee information and updating the external payroll provider on a monthly basis. Support on any financial system change, newly embedded systems and processes and contribute enhancements and continued development where needed. Develop, enhance and present monthly/quarterly reporting metrics to Senior Management for the APAC region. Provide analysis and support to our Strategic Finance team as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.

About You

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Accounting qualification with at least 3 years relevant experience gained preferably in a software, FInTech or professional accounting firm Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of IFRS  Knowledge of local statutory reporting requirements for entities across the APAC region Self starter with the ability to work independently and maintain open communication with coworkers, especially with team members that are geographically dispersed Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills Only resumes in English will be considered.

SaaS industry experience Experience with Coupa, Zuora and NetSuite.
