OMICRON is a leading manufacturer of primary and secondary test equipment for electric power systems. The role of Sales and Application Engineer will be responsible for supporting technical sales and providing technical support of OMICRON products and their applications for our customers in the Asia region. The position is to be located in our OMICRON Service Center in Singapore and will be reporting to Country Manager.

Your responsibilities

Responsible for sales and business development of the OMICRON solutions in South East Asia. Provide technical and application support to customers in South-East Asia for OMICRON solutions in various application areas in power system, such as, protection relay, power transformers, instrument transformers, switchgear, rotating machines and ancillary equipment. Support our product management with your ideas deriving from your service experiences with existing customers to improve our products and will lead to new innovative solutions; you will translate market requirements into technical specifications. Support the Marketing communication (MC) team to promote OMICRON products by providing a contribution on advertising and literature. Identify, develop, maintain and grow positive relationships with existing accounts and new business opportunities. Participate in business development, market evaluation, sales forecasting and monitoring of customers and leads within the assigned area. Coordinate and conduct promotional activities including conferences, user meetings, seminars, local exhibitions & on-site demonstration and post-sale customer training and service of the products. Make recommendations and suggestions for new products, service markets and process improvements. Communicate with other Sales and Application Engineer and Regional Application Engineers on industry information, product issues, market trends and customer perception of OMICRON products and services. Maintain the corporate Customer Relation Management (CRM) database with new contact information, topics discussed and opportunities, keeping the information up to date and accurate.

Your profile

5 to 8 years of relevant working experience. You have good knowledge of power system substations, generation, transmission and distribution of electric power. Having knowledge of protection, automation and control systems and experiences with electrical diagnostic tests of high voltage apparatus would be added advantages. Experience in sales and/ or dealing with customers. You have an excellent command of English; other languages (e.g. Malay or Chinese) would be a plus. You enjoy communicating and you like to organize your working day independently. You have a precise, reliable and autonomous working style. You want your enthusiasm for technology to connect with your job. You are flexible, and would enjoy travelling to other countries (up to 50% travelling).

Education

You have a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Electrical engineering or relevant experience (preferably in power systems and high voltage apparatus)
