Your day at NTT DATA

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transmission Network Engineer with a strong background in DWDM technologies to join our network operations team. The role of Infrastructure and Operations Engineer involves designs system configurations, documents and manages the installation of a new network, and maintains and upgrades existing systems as necessary and later support the operation of overall Transmission Networks services offered by NTT.

What you'll be doing

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Handle trouble tickets and collaborate closely with the Network Operations Center to resolve all incidents / requests in a timely manner and within agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA)Maintains network and services availability by performing maintenance and health checksSupports, assists or leads engineering, design and problem isolationProvide 24/7 second-level technical support, assisting with critical network issues as they ariseExecutes changes with clear identification of risks and mitigation plans to be captured into the change recordEstablishes monitoring for platform infrastructureLeads and manages all initial client escalation for operational issuesContributes to the change management process by logging all change requests with complete details for standard and non-standard including patching and any other changes to Configuration ItemsEnsures all changes are carried out with proper change approvalsPlans and executes approved maintenance activities


Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering with a significant focus on DWDM, SLTE and PFE technologiesHands on experience of transmission devices, such as Ciena, Adtran and Infinera.Strong understanding of optical transmission principles and technologiesExperienced with network design and operational support for large-scale networks.Proficient in using optical network management and testing tools such as BERT, RFC2544, OTDR and OSA.Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.


Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field of studyRelevant certifications such as CCIE/CCNP/ITIL/COBIT/PMP/CISA/CISM certifications etc.
