Job Description

The Asset Management team is responsible for BW Group vessels management activities such as investment/divestment of vessels, identify business opportunities, generate returns through asset play, long term projects and/or forward paper markets as well as supporting other business units in their sales and purchase activities.

A successful candidate would ideally be able to work under time pressure, attention to detail for reviewing and negotiating contracts and good business acumen.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and analyse market trends to identify investment / divestment opportunitiesSupport the evaluation of investment/divestment decisions through quantitative and qualitative analysis as part of the proposal processIn collaboration with the Strategy & Corporate Development, support the analysis and identification of new opportunities within the shipping sectorSupport the compilation of Board papers and/or proposals for Board recommendationsParticipate in the negotiations for ship Sale & Purchase and Newbuilding contractsLiaise, network and build relationships with business counterparties, charterers and shipbrokers to gather relevant market intelligence and generate deal flowAdministration of existing contracts/agreementsMaintain and update databases (S&P and MDM)Assist and responsible for sending out routine reportsMonitor and update FFA positions as and when required.Participate in ad-hoc projects as requiredActively participate in the development of the quality management system and engage in the workflow process for the continuous improvement of departmental proceduresProcess timely and accurate invoices through IMOS for BW Dry CargoLiaise with external parties on operational and technical matters on BW Dry Cargo fleetActively participate and engage in the process for the continuous improvement of BW Asset Management procedures and processes, including keeping alignment between practice and documentation in QMS

Qualifications

Bachelor (BA, Finance, Economics, Legal or Shipping/Maritime)Preferably 1-3 years maritime experienceEntry level candidates with relevant internship/training experience may be consideredQuantitative skills, financial modellingReview and negotiate contracts/agreementsAbility to synthesize and present information to support decision makingAbility to work in a precise and accurate manner while under time pressureGood collaboration and team playerWell versed with Microsoft Office products (i.e Excel and PowerPoint)
