Bioprocess Scientist, ISCE2

ISCE2 is seeking a highly motivated Bioprocess Scientist to our growing multidisciplinary team to develop next generation sustainable technology for the biomanufacturing of fine and specialty chemicals. We are looking for an individual with a passion for science and sustainability who has a proven track record in fermentation science, bioprocess development, and/or downstream purification for biomanufacturing of sustainable chemicals.
The successful candidate may be responsible for but not limited to:
l Develop fermentation / bioprocess innovations and downstream purification for the sustainable bioproduction of chemicals
l Comfortable in the use of advanced technology, including AI/machine learning and computational design/modeling/ analytics, to help accelerate development
l Able to lead an independent study
l Opportunities for project and team management
l Maintain accurate records, analyze data and present research findings at local and international conferences, meetings, and to internal / external stakeholders
l Write and publish high impact papers in peer-reviewed journals, alongside preparation of technical disclosures, patent applications
l Support the Division in project ideation, technology development, and devise proposals for grant applications and industrial engagements.
lRepresent the institute at industry meetings and events
-Supervise and mentor junior researchers, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
-Other A*STAR, RI and lab duties and roles as assigned by the manager
Requirements:
l PhD in in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or Biological Engineering or its equivalent
l Strong background fermentation science and bioprocess development, especially gas or anaerobic fermentation
l More than 3 years of post-PhD experience preferred
l Experience with use and operation of bioreactors
l Adaptable to team-oriented goals and requirements
l Rigorous data analysis, interpretation, analytical and problem-solving skills
l Excellent oral/written communication and ability to work in cross-functional teams
l Strong time management, documentation and organization skills
l Meticulous, attention to details and organized
