About the Role
Independents is looking for a sharp, curious intern to help grow our community and amplify our voice. You'll be the person who spots the content that matters before everyone else does, finds the creators and thought leaders behind it, and builds real relationships with them. This is a hands-on role for someone who lives at the intersection of media, creators, and emerging technology, and who can tell the difference between content that's merely popular and content that actually moves people.

What You'll Do
• Scout impactful content: Track and curate standout content across platforms, and flag what's resonating and why.
• Identify creators and influencers: Build and maintain a database of creators, influencers, and communities that align with Independents' mission.
• Lead active outreach: Reach out to creators, AI marketing voices, and creative thought leaders to start conversations, invite collaborations, and grow our network.
• Grow the community: Support engagement initiatives that turn followers into participants and participants into advocates.
• Explore AI-driven marketing: Research and test how AI tools and trends are shaping content, creativity, and audience growth, and share what you learn.
• Report insights: Regularly summarize what's working, who's worth watching, and where the opportunities are. What We're Looking For
• A strong eye for content that has genuine impact, not just reach
• Deep familiarity with social platforms, creator culture, and the influencer landscape
• Confident, personable communication, especially in cold or warm outreach
• Genuine interest in AI, marketing, and creative thought leadership
• Self-motivation and reliability in a remote setting
• Availability for at least 6 months (part-time or fractional arrangements welcome) Nice to Have
• Experience managing a personal brand, community, newsletter, or content channel
• Familiarity with creator-outreach tools, CRMs, or social listening platforms
• Basic writing or editing skills
• Comfort experimenting with AI tools (writing, design, video, research) What You'll Gain
