We invite applicants for the following position:
**Executive, Broadcast Operations
The Executive - Broadcast Operations maintains continuity of the LIVE broadcast operations and services through operating broadcast equipment for the receiving, transforming, organizing, playout and transmission of content.

He/She is require to have an eye for detail and effective problem solving skills to manage transmission issues and ensure continuity of operations and transmission. Working knowledge of broadcast operation and methods and ability to coordinate with multiple teams and stakeholders is needed.

**Job Responsibilities:
1) Perform Recording and Ingest Operations:

- Monitor incoming signals or files for quality and continuity
- Record incoming signals for the purpose of storage and playback
- Perform quality checks on recorded and or ingested content for adherence to technical specification
- Segment recorded content as per on-air requirements
- Perform encoding and transcoding of content
- Assign asset tags and metadata for Media assets management
- Storing and managing of stored media files
- Adhere to workplace health and safety norms

2) Perform Playout Operations:

- Retrieve content from Digital asset management system for playback
- Manage the availability of schedules with scheduling department
- Manage schedules on automation system and resolve schedule underruns, overruns and errors
- Collaborate with program Planning, ad sales and scheduling to resolve “missing material’ as per daily channel schedule
- Execute playback of schedule content as per playlist through the automation system
- Perform TX LIVE events, switching between LIVE, recorded, commercial and promos events in accordance to the schedule and maintaining on-air continuity
- Monitor playout, transmission, satellite signals to resolve any issues that may arise in signals, audio or video quality
- Adjust for any time differences by inserting make good advertisement and promos in coordination with scheduling and ad sales team
- Generate As-run logs for commercial reconciliation by Ad sales team

3) Perform Distribution and Transmission Operations:

- Configure systems to setup Adhoc video over fiber, IP streaming circuits and Satellites uplinks and downlinks
- Manage conditional excess system
- Operate Teleport systems for full time and Adhoc Satellite transmission
- Track key broadcast operations metrics (BER, Packet Loss, C/N) for the purpose of evaluating performance

4) Perform Service Management:

- Track, Identify and report recurrent issues
- Maintain daily transmission logs for reporting to Manager
- First level of Service diagnostics and recovery during service failure conditions.
- Follow escalation procedure for fault reporting and recovery

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Previous working experience in similar roles would be beneficial
- Prior working experience with broadcast system is recommended
- Working Knowledge of Digital TV (DVB) Transmission and Methods
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Strong communication and good interpersonal skills
- Able to start work immediately or with short notice
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts that include nights, weekends and public holidays.
- Relevant Technical qualification from ITE and or Polytechnic
- Keen interest in Sports & live broadcasting is an advantage.
