As part of the NHG’s Group Integrated Care (GIC) leadership group, Deputy Director (DD) / Assistant Director (AD) for Clinical Governance and Medical Affairs will play a leading role in supporting the Group CMB and the NHG Clinical Board for developments related to clinical development, medical affairs, and clinical governance. He/She will work closely with NHG’s various institutions, their clinical leaders and their medical affairs department to follow-up from matters arising from senior management meetings, and develop strategic initiatives that improve the care of our residents and foster collaboration between our clinical provider institutions.
He/She will work closely with NHG Clinical Board and its committees, councils and workgroups, to create synergy for institutions to come together to work collectively to achieve clinical excellence and improve care outcomes for our residents. He/She will support the Group CMB in helping to foster stronger clinical collaboration and integration between the various institutions and departments, to maintain the high standards of clinical care and governance in NHG. He/She will oversee budget planning and resource allocation for the team, and the medical teams and centres which are funded by the NHG HQ group.
**Major Duties & Responsibilities**
Clinical Governance
Support the senior management and related committees to:
- Develop policies and/or guiding document related to clinical governance as a Group
- Coordinate with other departments on clinical governance, quality assurance, quality improvement and risk management.
- Coordinate with NHG senior management, NHG Board and MOH areas of key clinical concerns affecting NHG institutions and services, and provide the necessary follow-up and support.
- Enforce clinical data governance standards/procedures at Group level as directed by the Group CMB.
Medical Affairs
- Develop and co-design with NHG clinical leadership on a comprehensive Medical Affairs strategy that is aligned with NHG’s mission and vision.
- Collaborate with and support senior clinical leadership to establish and achieve yearly medical and clinical goals for NHG and its institutions.
- Coordinate with CMBs and their Medical Affairs departments to work on related clinical issues that affect more than one institution to improve our medical practices, processes and care outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with medical and healthcare regulatory requirements, guidelines and accreditation standards.
- Facilitate regular meetings to discuss clinical trends, best practices and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with and support clinical leaders to develop strategies and system of professional development to achieve high levels of clinical expertise, practicing at the forefront of medicine and at the top of licence.
Others
- Perform/support ad-hoc role/project as assigned by Group CMB.
- Perform horizon scanning of issues and challenges in the mid
- to long-term timeframe and proactively work to surface these issues ahead of time to the team and senior leadership.
**Job Requirements**
- A relevant Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 8 years of working experience in healthcare and progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
- Preferred: Degree in Medicine or Nursing, or Post-graduate degree (e.g. MPH, MBA) or equivalent in healthcare administration, business or a related field.
- Experience in clinical governance, medical affairs, policy planning, corporate development, organizational development and project management will be an advantage.
- Proven track record of leading diverse project teams and managing senior stakeholders. Ability to function effectively as one whom can lead & influence, to align both internal & external stakeholders to get the task / project done.
- Keen interest in driving transformation in Singapore’s healthcare system towards a sustainable and value-based care.
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, facilitation & communication skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills necessary for engagement of different stakeholders within the regional health system.

- Able to multi-task and adapt to a fast-paced working environment
- Self-motivated and results-oriented
