**Quality Control Analyst, Flavor**

**The Position**:

- Conduct routine physical, chemical, sensory and other analyses as required.
- Operate lab equipment (e.g. GC-FID, GC/MS and Auto-titrator), perform basic preventive maintenance, equipment verification/calibration and analytical method verification.
- Perform data entry and documentation process to maintain traceability
- Conduct risk assessment and decision making for approval/rejection of batches of Flavor raw materials/finished products based on the test results against the set specification and customer’s requirements within lead-time.
- Take appropriate decisions for rework of material based on historical trend and in consultation with seniors
- Raise non-conformation for quality deviations of Raw Material/Finished Goods and follow up for proper closure of corrective and preventive action
- Initiate actions to investigate customer complaint in consultation with relevant team members
- Collect comprehensive evidence/crucial data, provide sound reasoning and propose possible root cause for customer complaints and internal rejection
- Ensure that the Company’s agreed quality standards are maintained with regards to its customer contract and agreements
- Develop/maintain quality specifications and standards for raw materials, intermediates and finished product
- Maintain up-to-date quality control programs, policies, process flows, procedures and work instructions
- Propose/conduct optimization of workflow to improve productivity, sustainability and lab safety etc.
- Make effective timely communications with other stakeholders such as purchasing, production, planning, regulatory and customer service to avoid any delays
- Cross support to other QC teams whenever required.
- During the absence of supervisor, take up critical jobs to ensure business continuity
- Degree in relevant science field including Chemistry, Flavors/Fragrance, Food Science etc.
- 4-5 years for degree holders and 5-8 years for diploma holders in the field of flavor and fragrance or related areas (e.g. Food/Beverage industry)
- Possess good knowledge of chemical properties, especially in flavor and fragrance
- Exposure to sensory analysis is essential
- Basic process knowledge of production work
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment like GC, GC MS, HPLC etc.
- Excellent in writing technical communication/reports
- Knowledge of Laboratory Safety and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
