The Skin Research Institute of Singapore (SRIS) is looking for a Strategic Research Manager to coordinate research within the SRIS community. SRIS is a tripartite entity with researchers from A*STAR, NTU and NHG. SRIS? objectives and are to impact skin healthcare in Singapore and globally by harnessing the strengths of our partners in skin research. Research in SRIS is multi-disciplinary with the goal of innovating and translating to clinical and industrial impact and outcomes

The role will be to coordinate and drive collaborative research efforts between scientists, engineers and clinicians in SRIS; identify synergies and opportunities and devise strategies to leverage on them; develop and implement R&D strategies for building programmes and for research translation.

Provide input on research directions and priorities to achieve SRIS?s mission and goals across our research partners.
Formulate and execute strategies for SRIS that will impact healthcare, secure research funding and drive industry-relevant R&D programmes, capabilities and infrastructure.
Proactively develop and ensure a pipeline of scientific capability building effort through technology foresighting, roadmapping exercises, and design and evaluation of new R&D programmes.
Establish and build long-term partnerships with the SRIS research community, public hospitals, universities, industry and public sector agencies.
Ensure good governance and management of research projects and programmes.

Job Requirements

PhD Degree in biomedical sciences.
Minimum of 4 years? working experience, preferably in science and grants strategy, and/or in a science-based coordination role.
Have a broad vision of science and technology, able to handle diverse technical topics beyond one?s direct field of education and experience, with excellent awareness of emerging technologies and global trends.
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills with a flair for engaging multiple stakeholders for outcome-driven discussions
Able to bring fresh insights to complex situations and make radical or unexpected connections
Energetic self-starter, hands-on, able to self-direct and flex between varieties of approaches and projects.
Expertise in skin science or dermatological care
Ability to learn fast and gain deep domain knowledge in R&D areas related to skin
Ability to exert influence with strong collaboration and communication skills
Ability to expand sphere of influence through networking and understanding of the local ecosystem
