Senior / Staff Hardware Simulation Engineer, Io

**Essential Functions**:

- Perform in-depth electrical circuit simulation for all new products, design changes and cost improvement projects.
- Development of electronic circuit models/test cases refer to a standard guideline and/or customer requirements and correlation with real behavior/measurements
- Specification and documentation of the model and test case performance with clear reference to the area of validity and accuracy. Maintenance of structured library of electronic simulation models/test cases
- Customer interface to define, develop and provide simulation models and test cases in case of special customer requirements
- Keep up to date with the latest versions of the simulation packages and upgrade accordingly.
- Work closely with the design teams and identify the design blocks for electrical simulation, create the models necessary for the simulations. Collaborate with various development team members to deliver cost effective functional solutions
- Define the building blocks for optimized design considering the cost and manufacturability in mind.
- Identify schematic level problems and describe potential solutions. Ensure that critical issues are addressed before they have a major impact to schedule.
- Estimate, execute, and validate tasks to design, model, and simulate customized power systems and design blocks.
- Make decisions based on the right set of business and/or technical drivers. Explain your reasoning/rationale behind decisions to gain acceptance and buy-in.
- Provide guidance and technical sharing on related knowledge on simulation tools and methods to rest of team in organization

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree, Masters or PhD in electrical engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum 7 to 10 years in the electronic design area for electronic product design including the use of modelling and simulation with a mixed mode electronic simulation tool. Less experience with relevant Master/PhD is acceptable.
- Possess strong technical knowledge and demonstrate through past working experience. Knowledge in the following areas are considered as an added advantage:

- Microprocessor/Microcontroller system design with preferably ARM processors
- Memory system designs, including memory buses, different memory types, diagnostics.
- Logic Design for FPGA/CPLD/PAL devices
- Power supply circuit
- Digital, Analog IO Design (Isolated and non-Isolated)
- Good knowledge in the implementation of protection and diagnostic interface for inputs and outputs
- Experience in high-speed design, including board layout techniques to achieve best solutions in meeting product requirements, product cost and size.
- Experience in worst case simulation, Sweep analysis, monte Carlo simulation, sensitivity analysis, RSS & temperature variation assessment etc
- Experience in model creation using VHDL, component data sheet etc
- Experienced in cadence circuit simulation tool will have the first preference.

**Desired Qualifications**
- Knowledge in Industrial Automation products, especially in designing product for industrial I/O (digital / analog / communication) products.
- Knowledge or past experience in firmware development and good understanding in HW/FW interface and interactions.
- Have past experiences in developing products according to IEC 61508.
- Experience in designing hardware products according to IEC 61131, IEEE 802.3 specifications.
- Experience using Agile methodologies in hardware product development lifecycle.
- General understanding of functional safety standards/requirements
- Experience in other simulation packages like Saber, Xpedition AMS, LT Spice etc
- Self-Motivation to cooperate in multi domain teams and to take leadership
