**Sensory & Consumer Insights Panel Leader**:

- The Sensory and Consumer Insights team plays multiple roles ranging from guiding flavor design / development to understanding consumers’ needs and preference. The position of the SCI Technologist / Panel Leader will play an important supporting role and he/she will be part of a designated project team responsible for execution, analyses and reporting of SCI projects using both trained and internal sensory panels. Other responsibilities will also include managing and maintaining laboratories’ infrastructure, equipment, materials and as well as day-to-day panel operations. _
- In addition, this position provides an exciting opportunity to make an impact to the Sensory & Consumer Insights capabilities and development in a highly collaborative working environment with supportive colleagues here at Symrise.**The Position**:

- Work closely with the project team to ensure successful completion of projects
- Receive instruction and training in sample preparation protocols and samples properties characterization using appropriate sensory test methodologies and sensory panels including but not limited to discrimination and descriptive test methods.
- Prepare and present flavor and food samples in a manner consistent with project design, paying due diligence to safe food preparation and evaluation protocols.
- Conduct sensory evaluation tests which includes test setup, panel training, data collection, topline data analysis and report writing.
- Ensure efficient translation of instructions on new applied sensory science methodology into everyday activities.
- Maintain a healthy, safe and hygienic working practice for all tasks undertaken.
- Support Trained Panel Management and continued development.
- Co-lead the management and maintenance of the Sensory and Consumer Science laboratories infrastructure, equipment and materials for operation.
- Initiate regular review and revision of operations
- Develop and enhance the operations of the Sensory and Consumer Insights Laboratories.
- Responsible for a healthy, safe and hygienic working practice for all tasks undertaken.
- Maintain and develop effective relationships with SCI Team members and colleagues and stakeholders from other functions as appropriate.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or Psychology, Consumer Science
- Minimum 2 years of Sensory Science experience working in the food industry or related fields and demonstrate a good knowledge base and understanding of Sensory Science, Food Science or related discipline. Applies developed knowledge and skills to one or more specific projects or services.
- High agility, structured and self-starter personality
- Self-motivated to meet deadlines for requests.
- Good interpersonal skills for managing the sensory panel and strong communications skills with good command of English, both written and verbal
- Ability to understand and interpret relevant rules and regulations.
- Strong team player with good track record.
