Research Associate in the Centre for Population Health Sciences (Prof Josip Car)
The Research Associate is required to work closely with the Centre Director and Centre Manager in management and administrative processes (inclusive of research administration, human resources, finance, contracts, procurement, research support) to ensure alignment with School’s systems and the smooth functioning of the Centre and the WHO Collaborating Centre.
Responsibilities include:
Staff management:
- Staff management plans,- Staff contract management and hiring plans.- Manage student / scientist attachments.- Manage staff matters in the Centre.
Centre finance management:
- Budgeting and budget utilisation- Finance-related processes in project management- Account management
Project Contract management:
- Liaison with internal (e.g. LSO, RASS, FN) and external (e.g. funders and collaborators) stakeholders on contract matters including initiation, variation, reporting and expiry.- IRB and project update submissions.- Preparation of reports
Event/ Visit programme management- Develop programmes, schedules, budget approvals for events and visits
Centre matters- Oversee operational aspects including facilities, services, staff seating assignment, fire safety- Organize events and visits- Assist in meeting scheduling and other duties as assigned by the Director
Skills and qualifications:
- BSc(Hons) or Masters in any discipline.- Minimum 2 years of working experience.- Good command of English (written and spoken).-
- Demonstrates initiative, adaptability and quick thinking.- Experience with managing local and international stakeholders.- Experience with working in a managerial capacity or in an interdisciplinary research environment would be advantageous.
