Temporary Research Associate in the Centre for Population Health Sciences (Prof Josip Car)
We are currently recruiting a Research Associate who will join the Centre for Population Health Sciences at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, a joint medical school between Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
The Centre’s focus areas of research include population health, digital health, mHealth, digital education, and health services and outcomes research.

Responsibilities include:
- Executing research activities including software programming (exploit NLP representation learning techniques with dense vector representations and then perform clustering to identify similar/dissimilar topics and label those clusters with an informative topic label- Data management and statistical analyses- Preparation of research deliverables including writing reports, drafting and reviewing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, crafting posters/abstracts/presentation slides for local and/or international conferences- Participating in research seminars and regular team meetings and discussions
Skills and qualifications:
- Master’s degree in computer science/EEE specializing in NLP, ML and Deep Learning- Experienced in software development life cycle and programming languages- Develop solutions for representation learning- Develop solutions for end-to-end clustering- Skill in developing deep learning models in Pytorch- Write and publish research papers in top-tier NLP/ML conferences (ACL, ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, EMNLP)- Able to contribute to drafting of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals- Skilled in managing technical aspects of project
Qualities:
- Highly motivated, meticulous and well-organized with good leadership skills- Able to work independently and collaborate effectively in a highly diverse, multi-cultural and interdisciplinary team- Adaptable and willing to enter into deep learning in new areas- Fluent in written and spoken English with good communication skills
