Engineering Manager/ Lead

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as Engineering Manager / Lead for Maintenance, Automation & Capex in Jurong Pilot Plant. In this role, you will lead a team of project/automation engineers and mechanical/instrument technicians in managing maintenance, capital projects and automation within the Jurong Pilot Plant.

You will evaluate and lead the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies in the Jurong Pilot Plant. Be Subject matter expert for continuous processing and digitization and drive implementation through collaboration with other groups in GSK and through knowledge sharing with Pilot Plant process engineers.

**_ Responsibilities_**:
**Maintenance**
- Responsible for maintenance of the Pilot Plant and providing expertise and leadership to the Maintenance personnel working in the Pilot Plant.
- Manage a team of mechanical/instrument technicians, as well as contract equipment validation resource.
- Lead the development/training of the Engineering Technician Team.
- Ensure that statutory maintenance activities are carried out to schedule.
- Manage Shutdowns.
- Manage all instrument calibrations, mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Pilot Plant customer representative for all electrical, facility and fire system maintenance.
- Manage the Pilot Plants maintenance budget.
- Management of equipment and instrument spare parts.
- Manage the interface with Pilot Plant site based contractors
- Manage the Pilot Plants maintenance and contractor resource to support dynamic business workloads i.e. during equipment configuration, plant decontamination, capital projects, plant modifications and plant breakdown.
- Managing M&E and Facility Capital budgets, asset register and site validation master plan of the Jurong Pilot Plant.
- Develop capital investment proposals.
- Perform Periodic Engineering Technical Reviews and keep all master data (Equipment/Instrument Lists, ELDs and Electrical and Instrument Loop Diagrams) up to date.
- Maintain and develop relevant global and local SOP’s to ensure engineering compliance with respect to GQPs/GQMPs and GES’s in the Pilot Plant are maintained.
- Lead quality and safety investigations and support regulatory audits as required.

**Capital Projects**
- Identify areas of weakness in the portfolio of processing technologies (plant and equipment) and submit proposals to address these.
- Define and seek approval for the detailed project scope of plant and equipment projects, and obtain approval for capital orders and PIP's.
- Issue commissioning programmes, lead commissioning activities, and issue final reports.

**Automation**
- Manage DeltaV DCS software change control as business representative.
- Manage DCS hardware in the plant with support from PSC automation engineer.
- Provide automation resource in executing DCS software changes
- Manage IP21 change control as business representative

**Advanced Manufacturing**
- Evaluate and lead the implementation of advanced and new manufacturing technologies in the Jurong Pilot Plant.
- Drive the Jurong Pilot Plant’s digitisation strategy
- Subject matter expert for continuous processing and digitization: Collaborate with other groups in GSK to develop implementation and commercialisation strategies.
- Embed continuous processing and digitization through knowledge sharing with Pilot Plant process engineers and chemists.

**_ Knowledge, Skills & Experience_**:
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 10 years in Engineering and Plant Operations
- Experience with biopharmaceutical equipment and manufacturing processes

Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

- Master’s degree in Engineering
- Strong engineering technical skills in mechanical, chemical, and electrical disciplines
- Experience leading and motivating large matrixed teams
- Experience leading capital projects and manage budget, and manage contractor resources
