What you’ll do

As the Head of MI Data - Asia, you will lead Market Intelligence efforts across Point72 offices in the Asia region. You will lead a collaborative team of analysts from fundamental and quantitative backgrounds committed to a common goal of delivering differentiated research to our investment professionals across Point72’s international locations. The work is ever evolving, affording opportunities to tackle new challenges alongside research teammates from diverse backgrounds. Specifically, you will:

- Spearhead Market Intelligence efforts across Point72 offices in the Asia region
- Lead a team of analysts responsible for developing compliant data-driven insights, research products, and tools that meet investment teams’ needs
- Collaborate closely with Long/Short Equity investment teams to conduct bespoke, deep dive research into thematic and event-driven trading opportunities in partnership with Compliance
- Build out and manage a project pipeline, assigning task owners and providing guidance to direct reports and collaborators across the organization
- Become an in-house expert of third-party and proprietary data/research solutions in Asia - maintaining relationships with external stakeholders in the region
- Understand high-impact data and research offerings for investors focused on a diverse set of asset classes, investment strategies, and ecosystems

What’s required
- A passion for how companies, industries, and sectors operate and function in public equity, private, and macro markets with global experience in complex operating environments
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in fundamental research leveraging complex proprietary datasets and 5+ years of experience in the public or private equity market
- Strong technical skills to help build data research products with working knowledge in SQL or other big data processing tools
- Demonstrated data-driven decision-making skills
- 3+ years of experience in project management, and demonstrate strong leadership skills
- High level of ownership with the ability to determine how best to add value, rather than focusing narrowly on delegated responsibilities
- At least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics or a related quantitative field.
