Research Scientist

**Responsibilities include, but not limited to**:
- Work closely with the research team, senior management, and external partners to jointly undertake research projects with the organisation.
- Perform comprehensive literature review of relevant topics. Devise project and experimental plan for grant and industrial project etc.
- Develop measurement solution for fuel bunkering quantitative modelling and analysis, with the measurement parameters e.g., temperature, flow rate, pressure etc.
- Develop metrological measurement standards for traceability in the field of mechanical measurement.
- Identify industrial needs and gaps and propose appropriate research projects. Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders for joint research proposals.
- Supervise and mentor students, junior staff, and research associates.
- Perform other related duties, like industrial projects and calibration and measurement services, training, and consultation etc, as required.
**Job requirements**:
- Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or physics preferred.
- A desired 2 years’ post-doctoral research experience in academia and/or industry, preferably in fuel bunkering or precision measurement activities.
- Possess extensive hands-on experience in mechanical measurement & testing, with skills in modelling and simulation etc.
- Able to work independently in experimental design, data analysis and interpretation etc.
- Competent and effective in written and verbal communication skills.
