**Position Overview**

Administers the placement of seafarers onboard managed vessels in compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements.

**Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities**

1. Coordinates to ensure that all seafarers onboard are competent, experienced, trained, certificated and medically fit

2. Reviews and checks seafarers’ records to ensure that selection is as per company standards

3. Monitors requirements (planning, documentation & training) to ensure that seafarers are relieved on time and at cost effective ports

4. Provides requirements and communicates with manning & travel service providers, vessels & local port agents to ensure that crew changes pass off smoothly, efficiently and cost effectively

5. Understands and applies Orion’s add in values into daily work to ensure client satisfaction

6. Monitors information both internally and externally and reports issues that may be of note to the Crew Manager, thereby ensuring that the department remains well informed & other duties as may be assigned.

**Relationship**

1. Internal - Maintains working relations with staff in other departments of OSM (i.e. Technical, HSSE & Accounts) as well as with staff in other divisions of the Orion Group to ensure that service levels are maintained.

2. External - maintains working relations with seafarers, OSM clients, manning & travel service providers, vessels and local port agents to ensure that service levels are maintained.

**Job Requirements**:
1. Qualification & Experience - High School graduate with minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in a similar position within a Crew Dept or with a manning service provider.

2. Key Knowledge Areas - Shipping business with regards to administration of seafarers and, requirements of the STCW (Standards of Training, Certification & Watch-keeping) convention.

3. Skills & Competencies
