**The Company**
Our client is a global contract logistics company that manages outsourced supply chains and warehousing for global customers. Listed in the US & their customers operate in retail, e-commerce, technology, aerospace, telecom, F&B, healthcare, agriculture and infrastructure.
**The Position**
Report to the GM, operations, this positionis responsible for the management and leadership for high level service and profitability of the accounts/divisions assigned. Provide management and leadership to Operations managers and functional group. The incumbent will support the General Manager in maintaining the smooth operation of all daily logistics activities and conduct in accordance to plan and procedures
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and directions for assigned divisions of a facility.
- Responsible for managing the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation related activities for Singapore.
- To lead and manage facility of company’s logistics operations (Warehousing & Transportation) including monitoring and achievement of Operation Key Performance Index i.e. Order Accuracy, Safety, Warehouse turn-around-time, Billing and documentation, Inventory Management (Control, Accuracy and level), Overtime Ratio & Labour Productivity.
- Lead and manage the assigned logistics operations site including monitoring and achievement of Operation Key Performance Index and responsible for overall performance.
- Manage and develop the operations team which may include; Staff training plan, Recruitment of operations staff, Staff development activity and Ensure efficient communication between inter-departments
- Supervises and develops managers and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Defines requirements for operation and ensures the implementation of new strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed requirements & customer expectations.
- Drive Lean Warehousing System.
- Regularly reviews performance expectations with managers providing expectations, performance planning, feedback
- Defines roles and responsibilities, strategies and plans for the function’s future needs.
Position-specific Responsibilities
- This includes managing budgets, organizing schedules & routes.
- Ensuring that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements and making sure that drivers are aware of their duties.
- Run RFQ & Tenders for sourcing of transportation including haulage services
- Developing transportation relationships.
- Monitoring transport costs.
- Negotiate and reduce costs on hired contractors, verify and authorize payment(s), Continuous sourcing of contractors, management & maintenance of assets and maximize profitability
- To submit monthly forecast and planning to meet yearly budget for Transportation and warehousing.
- All related matters pertaining to facility, safety and security issues.
- As required, assist sales team in securing new business, including; conduct of facility tours, presentations on operations, site visits for customers to present capabilities and / or gather data and coordination effort with engineering and IT teams
**Job Requirement**
- Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
- At least 10 years of experience in logistics operations management providing overall direction, implementation, and continuous improvement in operations. Must possesses minimum 3 years 3PL working experience at management level, with prior P&L responsibility for a US$15m business
- Proven Operational / Logistics Industry/Supply Chain Management Knowledge
- Superior knowledge of Vertical Supply Chain, Manufacturing Logistics and Distribution Logistics
- Knowledge of targeted Industry Groups including automotive, Hi-tech, consumer and industrial products
- In depth knowledge of Transportation, Warehousing and supply chain modal
- Proven Accounts Management competencies within 3PL. Has relevant Project or Program roll out and management experiences.
- Strategic thinking ability with proven implementation results
- Excellent negotiation experience with customers, subcontractors, transporters, & vendors.
- Experience with customs and regulatory issues related to logistics
- Proven experience in the management of personnel for managerial and professional staff level, and in a multi-racial environment.
- Possess strong organization leadership, planning and analysing skills
- With excellent display of communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to re-prioritize workload to support urgent requests from various operations.
